Google Doodle Today: The Paris Olympics 2024 officially started yesterday. Today, July 28, Google is celebrating the football tournaments scheduled for the games in the French capital with an animated doodle. The doodle features a chicken attempting a headshot with an avocado, representing a football, while another chicken eagerly awaits its turn.
The doodle celebrates both the men’s and women’s football tournaments. Several countries, including France, Japan, the US, and Spain, are competing in both categories.
Athletes from over 200 countries have gathered in Paris to compete in 329 events across 32 sports disciplines for the Paris Olympics 2024. The Games began on July 26 and will end on August 11. The year 2024 marks the 33rd edition of this quadrennial spectacle.
Indian Contingent at Paris Olympics
The Indian contingent, led by ace shuttler PV Sindhu and table tennis star Sharath Kamal as flagbearers, arrived in Paris yesterday for the opening ceremony. This year’s outfits have been designed by Tarun Tahiliani.
