Manchester United are considering a potential summer exit for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, willing to take a £35 million hit on the right-back.

Wan-Bissaka has experienced a turbulent time at Old Trafford since his £50 million move from Crystal Palace in 2019. Initially, he was a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but his role has diminished, with Diogo Dalot often preferred. Although he has played in significant matches under Erik ten Hag, the club is now open to letting him go.

West Ham is among the interested parties and could secure Wan-Bissaka for £15 million. According to talkSPORT, the Hammers and United are in talks over a potential deal. The Red Devils recently triggered a 12-month extension in Wan-Bissaka’s contract to prevent him from leaving for free this summer.

Wan-Bissaka has made 190 appearances for United, scoring twice. Despite his contributions, United are looking to offload players to finance their summer transfer plans, with more signings on Ten Hag’s wish list.

A year ago, Ten Hag admitted that Wan-Bissaka “was out in the cold and looked like he was on his way out of Manchester United” before his performances earned him another season at the club.

The former Palace man, once tipped for England but still awaiting international recognition, confessed he thought his United career was over when Ten Hag arrived. However, his determination paid off, extending his stay at Old Trafford.

“It was a hard time and the only thing you can do during a hard time is keep working,” Wan-Bissaka said. “I got my head down and then got the chance and was able to help the team. You can just sit there and complain about it and not care, or you can actually try, and I thought the best way was for me to try.”

Last season, Wan-Bissaka started 20 Premier League games, but United are now looking to strengthen their defense. They are close to completing a £52 million deal for Leny Yoro from Lille, with Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite also on their shortlist.
