Man Utd Fans Speculate Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Influence in Sealing First Transfer After New Kit Reveal

Manchester United fans are buzzing with speculation that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has influenced the club’s decision to make Sofyan Amrabat’s loan move permanent after the midfielder was seen modeling their new kit.

Amrabat, who joined United on loan from Fiorentina last summer, played a pivotal role in United’s season, making 30 appearances across all competitions. His standout performance came in the FA Cup final, where United triumphed over Manchester City with a 2-1 victory.

Post-final, Amrabat expressed his desire to remain at United but acknowledged the uncertainty of his future. Speaking to Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport, he said, “Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk. Staying is certainly an option. Manchester United is the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here? But all parties have to be happy with each other, so we will sit down now and see what happens.”

Fans are now interpreting his presence in the club’s new kit as a hint that United has decided to trigger the option to buy him. The fact that Amrabat remains listed in the first-team players section on United’s website strengthens this belief, with an updated picture of him in the new kit. In contrast, the section has removed players like Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Brandon Williams, whose contracts have expired.

Interestingly, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton, whose contracts also expired on June 30, remain listed as first-team players, indicating ongoing talks for new deals. However, according to the Manchester Evening News, United has not yet finalized a decision on Amrabat’s future.

The report suggests that manager Erik ten Hag will discuss the possibility of buying Amrabat with technical director Jason Wilcox, chief executive Omar Berrada, and sporting director Dan Ashworth later this month. Berrada will officially start his new role on July 13, while Newcastle confirmed Ashworth’s appointment on July 1 after prolonged negotiations to buy him out of his contract.

As fans eagerly await the official decision, the speculation surrounding Amrabat’s future at Old Trafford continues to build, fueled by the new kit reveal and the strategic appointments within the club’s management.
