With over 2.4 million views, the video has prompted many reactions from soccer fans. One user on X wrote, “Pitches have been god awful during Copa America. He just got hurt in a non-contact injury because of it. World Cup needs real grass, not just grass rolled over turf.” Another user commented, “Fans with no tickets rushing into the stadium. Fans with tickets not allowed into the stadium. Now Messi out of the game. I did not have this on my bingo card for the evening.”

A third fan reacted, “I really miss Messi. That’s such a painful moment, like when someone breaks your heart.”

Despite Messi’s early exit, Argentina defeated Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America 2024 final in Miami. Emiliano Martinez received the Best Goalkeeper Award, while Lautaro Martinez was awarded the top-scorer trophy.
