Jose Mourinho Celebrates Dramatic 102nd Minute Winner, Then Rants About Referee

Jose Mourinho celebrated wildly after Fenerbahce’s dramatic 102nd minute winner against Trabzonspor on Sunday, marking a thrilling comeback for his team. The match, which saw former Manchester United star Sofyan Amrabat score the decisive goal, ended in a 3-2 victory for Fenerbahce, with another ex-Red Devil, Fred, contributing to the scoreline alongside former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

Mourinho’s excitement was palpable as he ran onto the pitch to join in the celebrations. Attempting a knee slide, the Portuguese manager stumbled and fell to the ground, drawing laughter from his staff, who quickly piled on top of him in celebration.

The win propelled Fenerbahce back into second place in the Turkish Super Lig, keeping them within five points of league leaders Galatasaray. However, amidst the euphoria of the last-minute triumph, Mourinho quickly shifted his focus to the officiating, launching a scathing critique of the referee, Atilla Karaoglan.

Mourinho expressed his frustration, claiming that his team had been on the wrong end of numerous decisions throughout the match. He stated, “The man of the match was Atilla Karaoglan. The invisible man. The referee on the field is just a child. We don’t want to see him in our matches again. We don’t want him as a VAR either.”

The 60-year-old manager also voiced his displeasure with the club’s management, suggesting that they had not fully disclosed the challenges he would face upon joining Fenerbahce. “If they told me the whole thing, I would not have come to Fenerbahce,” he added.

Fenerbahce’s recent form has seen them win four of their last six matches across all competitions, including a recent draw against Manchester United. Mourinho’s side will return to Europa League action this week before facing Sivasspor, currently sitting sixth in the Turkish league, in their next domestic fixture.
