Erik ten Hag Considers Mourinho’s Proposal to Reunite with Man Utd Defender at Fenerbahce

Jose Mourinho is eyeing a potential reunion with Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, a move that Fenerbahce manager Erik ten Hag might entertain.

Lindelof, who joined United in 2017 under Mourinho’s management, has amassed over 250 appearances for the club since his £31 million transfer from Benfica. However, his role under Ten Hag has been inconsistent due to recurring injuries, limiting his appearances despite being a regular contender for the starting lineup last season.

Reports indicate that United are willing to entertain offers for the 29-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current contract, as they look to bolster their defensive ranks this summer.

Since securing his position as United’s manager, Ten Hag has emphasized his desire to retain influence over the club’s transfer dealings, rejecting the notion of surrendering complete control to the hierarchy. This stance was reinforced during discussions in Ibiza, where he was assured of job security and negotiated a clause giving him final approval on transfers.

Mourinho's

Lindelof has previously spoken highly of Mourinho, acknowledging the Portuguese coach’s impact on his career: “[Mourinho] is one of the world’s best coaches and deserves a role at a top club. I miss his presence in football. He gave me my chance at United and guided me through everything. I have immense respect for him and appreciate everything he has done, from providing tough love to offering support. His charisma and achievements command respect.”

As discussions and negotiations unfold, the prospect of Lindelof joining Mourinho at Fenerbahce remains a topic of interest for both the player and the managers involved.
