Tottenham’s Eric Dier inches closer to a potential transfer to Bayern Munich, agreeing on personal terms for a move.

Eric Dier appears on the brink of making a significant move to Bayern Munich in January, as negotiations over personal terms for the defender have reportedly been settled. Despite Tottenham’s statement that there hasn’t been direct contact with the Bundesliga champions, they remain open to discussing a transfer fee if Dier were to leave immediately.
The player, currently out of favor under manager Ange Postecoglou and with his contract expiring at the season’s end, seems to be edging closer to Bavaria. Bayern’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, highly regards Dier’s versatility, viewing him as a potential asset in defensive midfield alongside his natural center-back role. Should the move materialize, Dier would reunite with former Spurs teammate Harry Kane, who joined Bayern last summer.
Postecoglou addressed Dier’s absence from the squad during the FA Cup win over Burnley, attributing it to an injury that prevented the player from training on Thursday. He vehemently denied any connection between Dier’s absence and the rumored interest from Bayern, emphasizing his honesty about the player’s fitness status.
Amidst the potential departure of Dier, Postecoglou is actively pursuing a new center-half, with Genoa’s Radu Dragusin emerging as his top target. Talks regarding Dragusin’s transfer are ongoing, especially with Ben Davies, who filled in at central defense due to injuries, suffering a hamstring injury in the Burnley match.
The situation continues to evolve, with Dier’s Bayern move looking increasingly plausible while Tottenham braces for potential defensive reinforcements in the transfer window.
