Cole Palmer clinched two prestigious awards at Chelsea’s end-of-season ceremony. Acknowledging his remarkable season with the Blues while also highlighting the contributions of a teammate.
Since his £42.5 million transfer from Manchester City last summer, Palmer has emerged as a standout performer for Chelsea. Tallying 26 goals and 13 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His stellar form has solidified his status as a key player for the team. Despite their inconsistent performances under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The 22-year-old’s standout season earned him the titles of men’s player of the year and men’s players’ player of the year at Chelsea’s awards gala. Where he expressed gratitude to his colleagues, coaches, and fans for their support.
Reflecting on his choice for the players’ player of the year award, Palmer revealed, “I voted for Malo Gusto. I love playing with him on the right, and he’s been amazing this season when he’s played, so that’s why I voted for him.”
Gusto, who has made 34 appearances for Chelsea primarily as a right-back, has impressed with his performances. Especially in the absence of injured captain Reece James. His versatility and attacking prowess have earned him recognition, including a call-up to France’s senior squad by manager Didier Deschamps.

Palmer also expressed his aspirations to represent England at Euro 2024, emphasizing his focus on finishing the season strong before potentially joining the national team for the tournament.
In addition to Palmer’s accolades, Alfie Gilchrist was named men’s academy player of year for his breakthrough into first-team squad. While Conor Gallagher received the PFA community champion award.
On the women’s side, defender Jess Carter was honored as the women’s players’ player of the year, with Lauren James earning the women’s player of the year award for her prolific goal-scoring record in the Women’s Super League, tallying 13 goals in 15 appearances.
