Omar Marmoush delivered a standout performance, scoring two goals and providing two assists, as Eintracht Frankfurt triumphed 4-2 against promoted side Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
Frankfurt took the lead twice in the match, only to be pegged back each time by Japanese forward Shuto Machino, who found the net for Kiel on both occasions. However, Marmoush’s decisive contributions in the latter stages helped Frankfurt secure the three points, lifting them to second place in the table, just one point behind Bayern Munich, who will visit Frankfurt next weekend.
“It’s a lot of fun,” Marmoush told DAZN. “I’m glad to help out with goals and assists. We’ll take some confidence from this game,” he added, looking ahead to the upcoming clash with Bayern.
The match kicked off with a sensational solo goal from Marmoush, who picked up the ball in his own half and weaved through the Kiel defense before finishing emphatically at the near post. Kiel responded quickly, with Machino converting a penalty to level the score. However, Marmoush soon restored Frankfurt’s lead with a pinpoint corner that Igor Matanovic headed home just two minutes into the second half.
Machino struck again in the 50th minute, seizing on a rebound from a corner to bring Kiel level once more. Yet, Marmoush wasn’t finished; he reclaimed the lead for Frankfurt five minutes after the hour mark, capitalizing on a defensive error to net his second goal from the left side of the box.
With just 16 minutes remaining, Marmoush sealed the victory by cutting in from the right flank and assisting Tuta, who tapped in from close range. Following this match, Marmoush leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with six goals and three assists over just five league games, surpassing Harry Kane.
Bremen Stages Remarkable Comeback

In the late game on Sunday, Werder Bremen mounted a stunning comeback, overcoming a three-goal deficit to defeat Hoffenheim 4-3. Jens Stage was the hero, scoring a hat-trick that turned the match around after an 18th-minute red card for Hoffenheim’s Stanley Nsoki shifted the momentum.
Hoffenheim raced to a 3-0 lead within the first 12 minutes, thanks to two goals from the imposing Marius Bülter and a spectacular acrobatic effort from former Bayer Leverkusen forward Adam Hložek. However, the game changed dramatically when Nsoki was sent off for a last-man foul on Felix Agu, giving Bremen a lifeline.
Julian Malatani sparked the comeback just three minutes later, chipping the ball through a crowded box to get Bremen on the scoreboard. Stage then netted two quick goals before halftime—a header from a Marvin Ducksch cross and a volley from close range—bringing Bremen level at 3-3.
Stage completed the turnaround just four minutes into the second half with another header, this time giving Bremen a surprising lead. Following their comeback, Bremen controlled the match, utilizing their numerical advantage to secure their second victory of the season.
“The first 10 minutes were completely brutal, but after that, our team showed strength of character,” Stage told DAZN. “We’re a good group with strong team spirit—and I’m a bit happy with the goals.”
