On Monday, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) officially welcomed Anilkumar as its new Secretary General. Anilkumar was greeted at Football House by AIFF Treasurer Kipa Ajay and Deputy Secretary General M. Satyanarayan.

Anilkumar, who has a long history with the Kerala Football Association, acknowledged the significance of his new role. “I know that this is a very big responsibility,” he said. “With my experience and understanding of various departments, I am committed to working as part of a team with the member associations and other stakeholders to advance Indian football.”
He succeeds Shaji Prabhakaran, who was removed from the position in November last year. Anilkumar emphasized his focus on improving football from the grassroots level to the top divisions. He plans to collaborate with club owners and investors to identify areas for growth and development.
“Our priority is always to enhance every aspect of the sport,” Anilkumar stated. “We will seek support from AFC and FIFA to assess our current position and strategize for significant improvements with guidance from the Executive Committee.”
