Tottenham Hotspur’s decision to increase season ticket prices has sparked criticism from the club’s Supporters Trust, labeling it as “hugely disappointing.” However, manager Ange Postecoglou has come to the defense of the team’s foreign fans, asserting their right to attend games alongside local supporters.
In response to inquiries suggesting that Premier League clubs may be targeting foreign fans with price hikes, Postecoglou addressed the issue directly. He pointed out that as someone who hails from another part of the world and is passionate about football. He himself could be considered a “plastic” or “tourist” fan. Postecoglou emphasized that fans from around the globe, including those who may not have easy access to games in the UK, deserve the opportunity to experience live Premier League matches.
Highlighting the global support for Tottenham Hotspur, Postecoglou emphasized that the club has fans not only across the UK but also worldwide. He stressed the significance of making games accessible to all supporters, regardless of their geographical location.
Meanwhile, Tottenham has a chance to climb into the top four of the Premier League standings with a victory over Fulham. Currently sitting in fourth place, a win would bolster their position as they seek to secure a coveted spot among the league’s elite teams.
