The Zimbabwe cricket team has set a new world record for the highest total in T20 International (T20I) cricket, scoring an impressive 344/4 against Gambia in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group B. This incredible innings was spearheaded by captain Sikandar Raza, who remained unbeaten on 133 runs off just 43 balls, hitting seven fours and an astounding 15 sixes.

Previously, the Indian team, featuring emerging talents, stunned fans with a remarkable second-highest T20I total of 297/6 against Bangladesh, where Sanju Samson played a pivotal role with a brilliant century as an opener.
However, Zimbabwe’s explosive performance overshadowed this achievement. They began their innings aggressively, reaching 103/1 by the end of the powerplay, thanks to opener Marumani, who scored 62 runs off just 19 balls. Raza’s 33-ball century was equally impressive, ranking as one of the fastest in T20I history. Brian Bennett contributed with a solid 50 runs, while Clive Madande added an unbeaten fifty to the total. The team collectively smashed an astonishing 27 sixes during their innings, breaking Nepal’s previous record of 26 sixes from their 314/3 total against Mongolia in 2023.
This historic achievement comes just days after Zimbabwe set a previous high of 286/5 against Seychelles. In a heartfelt moment, Raza also reaffirmed his loyalty to Zimbabwe, stating that despite requests from fans for him to represent Pakistan, he remains committed to the nation that has supported him throughout his career.
