On Tuesday, August 28, the ICC appointed Jay Shah as its new chairman. At 35, he becomes the youngest person to hold this position. Shah will start his tenure on December 1, after Greg Barclay completes his second term as ICC Chairman. As Shah steps into this new role, many are curious about his earnings.

Jay Shah, who currently serves as the BCCI Secretary, does not have a fixed salary in his current role. Instead, like the players, he receives daily allowances. The positions of BCCI President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary are considered ‘honorary,’ meaning there is no fixed monthly or annual salary for these roles.
According to Khel Now, Shah earns ₹82,000 for attending international meetings or foreign tours related to Indian cricket. For domestic meetings, he is provided a daily allowance of ₹40,000, plus business class travel. For work-related travel within India that is not tied to meetings, Shah receives ₹30,000 per day.
As for his salary as ICC Chairman, it has not yet been disclosed. However, it is expected to follow a similar structure to his compensation with the BCCI, likely involving allowances rather than a fixed salary.
