West Indies secured a dominant seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in St Kitts to win the three-match ODI series 2-1, marking their first series win against Bangladesh in 10 years. West Indies had already ended Bangladesh’s 11-match winning streak in the first ODI.

Bangladesh posted 227 all out in 45.5 overs, with Jayden Seales delivering a career-best 4 for 22 to spearhead the West Indies’ bowling attack. Seales struck early, removing Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the first powerplay. Gudakesh Motie also contributed with 2 for 36. Mahmudullah (62) and Tanzim Hasan (46) fought back with a record eighth-wicket partnership of 92 runs, but Bangladesh still fell short.
In reply, West Indies made light work of the chase, reaching 230 for 3 in 36.5 overs. Brandon King led the charge with a brisk 82, supported by Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford, who were both unbeaten. King struck eight fours and three sixes, while Keacy Carty added 45. Although King was dismissed in the 29th over, Carty and Rutherford saw the team home, with Rutherford finishing the game with two sixes off Shoriful Islam.
West Indies’ victory marked a turnaround in their fortunes after earlier losses to Australia and Sri Lanka. They now boast back-to-back ODI series wins, following their triumph over England last month. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has struggled, winning just one of their last six ODI series.
