Pakistan skipper Babar Azam criticized his team after a disappointing batting performance against India in the T20 World Cup 2024 match.
Chasing a modest 120, Pakistan seemed to have the game in hand. However, poor batting and a special spell from Jasprit Bumrah led to a 6-run defeat. This loss jeopardized their spot in the Super 8.
The batting lineup crumbled, and an upset Babar expressed his frustration during the post-match presentation.

“I think we bowled well after 10 overs, restricting them to 120, which was a good total here. We started well but lost back-to-back wickets. We played too many dot balls, which didn’t help,” Babar said, criticizing the batters’ approach and failure to capitalize on their opportunities.
“We tried to utilize the first six overs, but we were one wicket down and not up to the mark. We didn’t capitalize properly and failed to get across the line.”
Babar’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss paid off initially as India lost both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma early. However, Rishabh Pant’s brilliant cameo of 42 helped India surpass the 100-run mark.
