Watch: Kagiso Rabada Stuns Mohammad Nabi with an Amazing Delivery

Mohammad Nabi failed to score against South Africa’s new-ball attack after arriving at the crease in the fourth over, following the dismissal of in-form opener Ibrahim Zadran. Nabi faced a couple of deliveries outside his off stump before receiving an in-swinging beauty from Kagiso Rabada, which nipped sharply off the seam to shatter the stumps.

Nabi’s dismissal further worsened Afghanistan’s top-order troubles in the high-stakes semifinal, as they slipped to 20-4 in 3.4 overs. Rabada claimed his second wicket of the evening, having earlier cleaned up Ibrahim Zadran with his first ball of the match.

Before the match, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and chose to bat first. Despite Afghanistan entering the match with high confidence following emphatic wins over Australia and Bangladesh, South Africa’s new-ball attack dismantled Afghanistan’s batting lineup on a challenging Trinidad pitch.

By the end of the opening powerplay, Afghanistan had lost five of their top six batters for just 28 runs, with Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada making the new ball swing effectively for the Proteas.
