Watch as Ravi Bishnoi’s clever bowling and Pooran’s quick catch dismiss Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw, the in-form batsman for the Delhi Capitals, began brightly against LSG, peppering the Powerplay overs with boundaries. However, his promising knock was cut short in the seventh over against the guile of Ravi Bishnoi. Shaw, after scoring a brisk 32 runs off 22 balls, departed attempting a big shot.

Watch as Ravi Bishnoi's clever bowling and Pooran's quick catch dismiss Prithvi Shaw

The dismissal unfolded when Bishnoi delivered a fuller ball right on the middle and leg stump line. Prithvi Shaw attempted a powerful slog-sweep but mistimed the shot slightly. Despite decent bat-to-ball contact, the ball lacked the desired elevation and dipped towards deep mid-wicket. Nicholas Pooran, stationed in the deep, showcased exceptional athleticism with a well-timed sprint and a spectacular diving catch to send Shaw back to the pavilion.

Earlier, David Warner, Prithvi Shaw’s opening partner, perished in the fourth over, becoming another victim of Yash Thakur’s impressive bowling form, continuing Thakur’s strong showing from the previous match. These quick wickets created problems for DC, and LSG will be hoping to take advantage of this momentum and keep their unbeaten home record intact by defending their total successfully.

Looking back at the first innings, LSG posted a commendable total of 167 runs, with a significant contribution coming from a brilliant fifty scored by the young talent, Ayush Badoni. It’s worth noting LSG’s resilience after finding themselves in a precarious situation at 94-7. The emergence of Arshad Khan as a reliable partner for Badoni during this crucial phase signifies a positive development for the LSG batting line-up. This crucial partnership under pressure highlights the team’s depth and ability to weather storms.
