In the 30th match of PSL 2024, Multan Sultans’ Iftikhar Ahmed displayed an impressive batting performance against Quetta Gladiators. Coming in during the 17th over, Iftikhar took charge against Mohammad Amir in the penultimate over, collecting 13 runs off just four balls.

Amir, taking on the responsibility of bowling the challenging penultimate over, faced a fierce onslaught from Iftikhar. The batter hammered the first ball for a boundary over mid-off and followed it up with a six over long-off in the next delivery. With two boundaries in quick succession, Amir’s over unraveled, conceding 17 runs.
Earlier in the match, Quetta Gladiators chose to bowl after winning the toss. They made an early breakthrough, dismissing Yasir Khan in the 3rd over. However, Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan stabilized Multan’s innings with a 52-run partnership.
Johnson Charles further boosted Multan’s momentum with a rapid 53 off 29 balls. Iftikhar then joined him, contributing a quickfire 20 runs from just 8 deliveries.
Their aggressive batting propelled Multan to a competitive total of 185/4. Despite Charles’s dismissal after reaching his fifty, Multan finished strong, with Iftikhar remaining unbeaten on 20.
In reply, Quetta Gladiators struggled and were eventually bowled out for 106, suffering a 79-run defeat and conceding the top spot on the points table.
