On the third day of the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy final, Mumbai set Vidarbha a daunting target of 538 runs, led by Musheer Khan’s patient 136 and Shreyas Iyer’s aggressive 95. With cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma watching, Mumbai’s batsmen dominated the proceedings, putting immense pressure on the Vidarbha fielders.

Ajinkya Rahane started the day positively with a boundary off Umesh Yadav but fell for 73 shortly after. Meanwhile, Iyer showcased his attacking prowess, hitting boundaries and sixes with ease. Despite a stroke of luck when he was on 49, Iyer continued his aggressive approach, eventually falling for 95.
Musheer played a steady innings, eventually surpassing his partner to reach his century before accelerating his scoring. However, wickets tumbled quickly once Iyer departed, with Dubey and Yash picking up crucial breakthroughs.
Dubey completed a five-wicket haul, dismissing Mumbai’s lower order, while Shams Mulani remained unbeaten on 50. Mumbai was eventually bowled out for 418 runs, setting Vidarbha a challenging target.
Facing two overs before stumps, Vidarbha’s openers, Atharva Taide and Dhruv Shorey, safely negotiated the remaining deliveries to end the day at 10 for no loss.
