Team USA is gearing up to continue their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Team India at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday, June 12. Both teams are undefeated in the tournament so far.
Ahead of their clash with India, USA cricketers expressed their excitement about facing such a strong opponent. Saurabh Netravalkar, the team’s rising pace star, emphasized their belief that they can compete with the top cricketers in the world if they play their best game.
“We believe that if we perform at our peak, we can challenge any team, not just India. Our strategy is to take it one game at a time, focus on our strengths, and keep things simple,” Netravalkar shared in a video posted by Star Sports.
USA’s captain, Monank Patel, described the upcoming match as a surreal experience, particularly standing alongside cricket greats like Rohit Sharma. He acknowledged the high-pressure nature of the game but emphasized that they will stick to their established style of cricket.
“Dreaming of moments like this, being alongside Rohit Sharma at the toss, it’s unreal. We understand the pressure, but we’re focused on playing our natural brand of cricket,” Patel commented.
Currently, India leads Group A with four points from two matches, while USA follows closely behind in second place, also with four points, determined by net run rate.
