UP Warriorz (UPW) have signed Australia’s Georgia Voll as a replacement for Chamari Athapaththu, who will miss the final phase of WPL 2025 due to national commitments. As reported earlier, Athapaththu was available only until February 26, when UPW faced Mumbai Indians in Bengaluru, a match they lost.

UPW’s next game is on March 3 in Lucknow, but Athapaththu will be unavailable as Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand begins the following day with an ODI in Napier, followed by three T20Is. Notably, she hasn’t played any of UPW’s five matches this season.
Voll, 21, has limited international experience, having played just three T20Is since debuting against England in January. However, she impressed in WBBL 2024-25, finishing as Sydney Thunder’s second-highest run-scorer with 330 runs at a strike rate of 144. Thunder reached the WBBL Challenger but lost to Brisbane Heat.
Voll also made an impact in ODIs, smashing a century in just her second match against India last December. She emerged as the highest run-scorer in that series, amassing 173 runs at an average of 86.50. Voll joins UPW for INR 30 lakh (approximately US$ 34,350).
UPW currently sit fourth in the five-team WPL standings, with two wins from five matches. Voll’s inclusion strengthens their squad as they push for a playoff spot.
