India will host England in a three-match ODI series from February 6 to 12. This will be the Men in Blue’s first 50-over series since their loss to Sri Lanka in August 2024. After playing only three ODIs last year, India aims to gain crucial match practice ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Prior to the ODI series, India will face England in a five-match T20 series starting January 22, with selectors expected to announce the squads for both formats on January 12.

With new faces likely to feature, three debutants could make their mark in the upcoming England series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young opener from India, has been in outstanding form across formats, particularly in domestic cricket. Despite not debuting in ODIs yet, Jaiswal has earned a spot in the squad. He is expected to serve as a backup opener alongside Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill and could make his ODI debut in this series.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, an accomplished batter from Andhra Pradesh, is another strong contender for his ODI debut. Reddy impressed in the IPL, where he scored 303 runs for SunRisers Hyderabad. His performances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, including a Test century, have added to his reputation, making him a likely debutant in the England series.
Harshit Rana, the 23-year-old pacer, has also been performing well in domestic cricket and the IPL. His 19 wickets in the 2024 IPL, combined with a solid Test debut, have put him in contention for an ODI debut against England.
These players could make significant contributions to India’s squad ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
