Karishma Ramharack’s impressive four-wicket haul and Hayley Matthews’ quick 34 led the West Indies to a crucial eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Sharjah. Chasing a target of 104, the West Indies reached 104 for 2 in just 12.5 overs, securing their second win in three matches and moving to the top of Group B. With this victory, they now share the lead with South Africa and England, both also on four points, although England has played only two matches.

Bangladesh faced their second consecutive defeat, significantly hurting their chances of advancing to the knockout stage. Their batting faltered, losing six wickets for just 27 runs after being put in to bat first.
Ramharack was the standout bowler for the West Indies, taking wickets in each of her four overs. She struck early, dismissing opener Shathi Rani with her first delivery, leading to a quick stumping by Shemaine Campbelle. In her second over, she bowled Dilara Akter, who missed a sweep shot, exposing her stumps. Ramharack returned later in the innings to claim the vital wicket of Sobhana Mostary, stumping her with a well-placed delivery. She concluded her remarkable spell with figures of 4 for 17.
Despite a bright start, Nigar Sultana struggled to maintain momentum for Bangladesh after early wickets fell. She scored 39 runs but slowed down after losing partners.
In response, Matthews capitalized on Bangladesh’s bowling errors, hitting six boundaries in her aggressive 34 runs off 22 balls. Although she was bowled by Marufa Akter, Stafanie Taylor and Deandra Dottin quickly finished the chase, with Dottin scoring an unbeaten 19 off just seven balls.
