The USA achieved one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history by defeating Pakistan in a Super Over in Dallas, marking their second win of the tournament.

Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, acknowledged his team’s below-par performance against the USA, attributing it to a tendency to underestimate less established teams in major tournaments. He admitted that despite thorough preparation, the team relaxed against the USA, leading to a shocking defeat.
Pakistan has previously lost to lower-ranked teams in major tournaments, such as Zimbabwe in the 2022 T20 World Cup and Afghanistan in last year’s 50-overs World Cup.
Thinking back on the match, Babar expressed disappointment about the team’s failure to carry out their plans effectively, especially in taking early wickets during the USA’s innings. He pointed out weaknesses in all three areas, particularly in bowling where getting early wickets was important.
Looking ahead, Pakistan faces archrival India in a highly anticipated match in New York on Sunday.
