The South Africa T20 World Cup 2024 Squad has been revealed, with Aiden Markram taking the reins as captain. Cricket South Africa (CSA) unveiled the much-anticipated 15-player squad, along with a couple of reserve players, for the tournament jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June 2024.

The squad boasts in-form wicketkeeper-batters Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, and rising star Tristan Stubbs. De Kock is likely to open alongside Reeza Hendricks, while the experienced David Miller will be crucial as the finisher. Notably, Ryan Rickelton gets the nod over Donovon Ferreira as the backup wicketkeeper, potentially making his T20 World Cup Debut.
Spinners Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Bjorn Fortuin provide variety in the attack, while the pace department features the fiery Kagiso Rabada and the express pace of Anrich Nortje, although Nortje’s recent form is a slight concern. The uncapped Ottniel Baartman, a standout performer in SA20 2024, has been a surprise selection, joining seam-bowling all-rounder Marco Jansen to bolster the bowling options.
Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger will be waiting in the wings as travelling reserves. South Africa finds itself in a competitive Group D alongside Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Their campaign kicks off on June 3rd against Sri Lanka in New York.
