Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to a groin injury sustained during the Buchi Babu Tournament in Tamil Nadu. Sanju Samson has been named as his replacement in the India D squad. India D will begin their campaign against India C, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, on September 5 in Anantapur.

Meanwhile, allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been cleared to play for India B after recovering from a sports hernia surgery. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is still unavailable due to a quadriceps injury. He is nearing full fitness after four months of rehab. Prasidh may feature in later rounds of the Duleep Trophy ahead of the Ranji Trophy season.
Several other India players have also been ruled out of the tournament. Suryakumar Yadav’s return to first-class cricket has been delayed due to a hand injury, and his availability for the second round will be assessed next week. Fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik have been sidelined by dengue fever, with Navdeep Saini and Gourav Yadav named as their replacements. Ravindra Jadeja was also withdrawn from India B.
The first round of the Duleep Trophy begins in Anantapur and Bengaluru on September 5. Top India Test players like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and KL Rahul will participate. They will join the Indian squad for the Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19.
