Chennai Super Kings, the five-time champions, faced their second consecutive defeat as Sunrisers Hyderabad showcased a dominant performance on their home turf. Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, CSK, led by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, struggled to capitalize with the bat, posting a below-par total of 165 runs.

Reflecting on the match, Gaikwad expressed disappointment with his team’s performance, highlighting various mistakes made during the game. He noted the slow nature of the pitch and acknowledged SRH’s effective bowling in the final overs, which prevented CSK from capitalizing in the death overs.
Gaikwad explained that the pitch, expected to be slow due to its black soil composition, further deteriorated as the ball aged, hampering CSK’s batting efforts towards the end of their innings. Despite their promising position at the halfway mark, CSK faltered in the latter stages as SRH utilized the conditions to their advantage.
Looking ahead, CSK will return to their home ground, Chepauk, where they will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Yellove Army aims to bounce back to winning ways in familiar home conditions, hoping to reverse their recent fortunes and reignite their campaign in the IPL.
