In a high-scoring IPL 2026 clash in Mumbai, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli faced injury concerns during the match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Chasing a massive target of 241 at the Wankhede Stadium, Rohit Sharma looked uncomfortable early in his innings. Just a few balls into the fifth over, he appeared to be struggling with his movement and was seen limping. After briefly receiving treatment on the field, Rohit tried to continue but was clearly in discomfort. Eventually, he had to retire hurt after scoring 19 runs off 13 balls and did not return to bat. His absence proved costly as MI fell short, losing the match by 18 runs.
Earlier in RCB’s innings, Virat Kohli also dealt with an injury scare. He appeared to have hurt his ankle and was seen receiving treatment on his left leg during the 10th over. At that point, Kohli was batting well on 35 off 25 balls. Despite the discomfort, he continued to play and went on to score a solid 50 off 38 deliveries before being dismissed by Hardik Pandya in the 15th over.
Kohli later remained in the dugout as RCB secured the win. After the match, captain Rajat Patidar mentioned that while he didn’t have full details, Kohli seemed to be fine.
With this victory, RCB moved up to third place in the points table, winning three out of their four matches. Meanwhile, MI’s struggles continued as they dropped to eighth position, managing just one win so far this season.
