In the ongoing IPL 2024 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI), DC captain Rishabh Pant continued his impressive form with a significant innings that included a memorable moment against MI’s ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
Pant’s impactful knock showcased his stunning courage and skill as he smashed Bumrah for a massive six during the 16th over of DC’s innings.
Facing Bumrah’s bowling, Pant seized the opportunity to showcase his batting prowess. After his teammate Tristan Stubbs took a single off the first ball of the over, Pant confidently faced Bumrah’s delivery.
“Bumrah, coming around the wicket, erred in his line, delivering a ball down the leg side. Consequently, Pant capitalized on the loose delivery, elegantly flicking the ball over the square leg fence for a towering six, much to the delight of the home crowd.”
The six further added to Bumrah’s woes in the match, as the experienced bowler had already conceded thirty runs off his three overs. Earlier in the innings, promising Australian batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk had also taken on Bumrah, hitting him for two fours and a six in his first over.
With Pant’s explosive batting and contributions from other batters, DC found themselves in a commanding position in the game. At the time of writing, the hosts were comfortably placed at 226 for three in 17.4 overs, with Pant and Stubbs forming an unbeaten partnership in the middle.
