Pakistan started the day positively, taking the second new ball immediately and finding success within four overs. Mohammad Abbas dismissed David Bedingham with a perfect outswinger that found the edge. However, Rickelton held firm, resuming on his overnight score of 176. He played with caution against full deliveries and attacked anything short.

Verreynne, on the other hand, displayed aggressive intent. He hooked Abbas over deep square leg for six and later launched two more sixes off Aamer Jamal in one over. Even with close fielders at cover, Verreynne pierced gaps with ease, frustrating Pakistan’s bowlers.

Rickelton reached his double hundred with a drive through the off-side, celebrating enthusiastically. Meanwhile, Verreynne continued to dominate, greeting Salman Ali Agha with back-to-back reverse sweeps for boundaries. He reached his fifty with an edge through a vacant slip cordon as Pakistan’s frustration grew.

As the session progressed, Pakistan’s bowlers appeared to lose their rhythm. Verreynne punished Jamal for 17 runs in one over, showcasing South Africa’s dominance. While it wasn’t quite declaration bowling from Pakistan, signs of weariness were evident.

With South Africa in a commanding position, Pakistan will need a significant effort to turn the game around.
