The Indian cricket team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, prompting discussions to possibly relocate their matches to Dubai or Sri Lanka. According to a report from ANI, the BCCI intends to propose a hybrid tournament model similar to the 2023 Asia Cup.

The ICC event, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025, has Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposing Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi as venues, including a high-profile India vs Pakistan match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on March 1.
India has refrained from visiting Pakistan since 2008, with minimal bilateral series between the two nations in recent years. Due to geopolitical tensions, organizers moved the last Asia Cup from Pakistan to Sri Lanka. Despite India’s non-participation in Pakistan, Pakistan recently visited India for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, playing matches across various Indian cities.
The final decision on India’s participation in Pakistan rests with the Indian government, with the PCB planning to discuss the matter at the upcoming ICC meeting in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan has outlined its draft for the Champions Trophy, assigning matches to Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi, with the eagerly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash scheduled for Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
The previous ICC Champions Trophy, held in England in 2017, saw Pakistan under Sarfaraz Ahmed defeating Virat Kohli’s India in the final by 180 runs.
