RCB’s WPL 2024 campaign takes a hit with star all-rounder Kanika Ahuja ruled out due to injury. Captain Smriti Mandhana faces the challenge of reshuffling the team’s lineup and strategizing for success. The absence of Ahuja prompts swift action, with RCB bringing in Shradda Pokharkar as her replacement.

In response to Ahuja’s absence, RCB swiftly names Shradda Pokharkar as her replacement. Hailing from Maharashtra, Pokharkar’s left-arm fast bowling adds strength to the squad. The decision to sign her at a reserve price of INR 10 lakhs reflects the team’s confidence in her abilities for a positive impact.

RCB, determined to rebound from the previous disappointing season, is gearing up for WPL 2024. The team’s inconsistent performances in 2023 resulted in missing the playoffs. The upcoming season opens with RCB facing UP Warriorz Women on February 24 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

In the 2023 season, RCB W finished fourth in the standings, accumulating four points from eight games with only two victories. Inconsistency proved detrimental to their overall campaign.
