After a breathtaking display with the bat in their previous Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Andy Flower emphasized that the team will draw positives from the match and return with renewed vigor in the upcoming fixture.

Facing the daunting task of chasing down 288 runs, RCB commenced their innings positively, with captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli forging an impressive 80-run partnership for the opening wicket. The late surge from Dinesh Karthik, who played a stunning innings, further bolstered RCB’s pursuit of the target.

Acknowledging the team’s commendable performance with the bat, Flower stressed the importance of deriving confidence from such displays, especially considering every upcoming game as a crucial encounter in their quest to qualify for the playoffs of the ongoing IPL season.
“It was a really tough night in the field of course as they finished so powerfully that it probably took the wind out of our souls. We will have a think and we will come back stronger. It is obviously knockout time, and every game is like a semi-final for us,” he remarked.
Flower also lauded Dinesh Karthik for his stellar innings, recognizing his growing impact on the field and his potential inclusion in the World Cup team.
“Dinesh Karthik is really making a push for the World Cup team as well and is only getting better on the field,” concluded the head coach.
RCB’s next challenge awaits them against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, April 21.
