India’s celebrated off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been a cornerstone in tough situations for over a decade, is now ready to share his journey in his autobiography titled “I Have the Streets: A Kutti Cricket Story.” Cricket author Sidharth Monga collaborated on the book, scheduled for release on June 10. It delves into Ashwin’s experiences both on and off the field, offering insights into his life before becoming a cricket star.

In his statement, 37-year-old Ashwin expressed hope that his journey from childhood to stardom would inspire young cricketers. He highlighted his health struggles as integral parts of his motivational story.
“I am pleased to tell my story of becoming a cricketer. Through this book, I hope to inspire many aspiring cricketers,” Ashwin said.
Hailing from Chennai, Ashwin debuted for India in 2010 and has since become a key player in Tests and limited-overs cricket. He has featured in 281 internationals, claiming 744 wickets, with 36 five-wicket hauls and eight ten-wicket hauls. In Tests, Ashwin is the ninth highest wicket-taker with 516 scalps and was the quickest to reach 300 wickets.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ashwin has achieved remarkable milestones. He secured the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Additionally, he clinched two IPL titles and one Champions League title with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Penguin Random House India (PRHI), the publisher, described the autobiography as gripping and insightful. It offers aspiring cricketers a deeper understanding of the sport from Ashwin’s perspective.
