On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) clarified that it has no plans to propose an offshore T20I series against India and is instead focusing on successfully organizing the Champions Trophy 2025.

Reports had suggested that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi might discuss the possibility of a T20I series at a neutral venue, such as England or Australia, with BCCI officials. However, a reliable source from the PCB stated, “There is no such proposal on the table or under consideration. Our primary focus is on the Champions Trophy, which is our biggest challenge right now, and we also have a busy international schedule.”
The source further explained that the PCB’s top priorities at the ICC meetings in Colombo are securing the budget for the Champions Trophy and obtaining assurances from the ICC and BCCI regarding India’s participation in Pakistan for the tournament. “That is our main agenda right now. So, there is no question of contemplating any bilateral series with India,” the source added.
India has suspended bilateral series with Pakistan since 2012, following a short white-ball series in Pakistan. The two countries have not played a Test series since Pakistan’s tour to India in 2007.
Additionally, there are uncertainties about India’s participation in the Champions Trophy, with ongoing speculation about the possibility of India wanting to play their matches outside Pakistan.
