The PCB is keen to fill the vacancy before the upcoming five-match Pakistan vs New Zealand T20I Series which kicks off on April 18th. This urgency follows the departure of previous coaches Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick, who transitioned to roles at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

The 42-year-old Ronchi boasts a remarkable cricketing career, having the unique distinction of representing both Australia and New Zealand in various formats. He played 4 Tests, 85 ODIs, and 33 T20Is for the New Zealand team. Former New Zealand Wicketkeeper for Pakistan? Ronchi’s experience extends beyond international cricket, having showcased his skills in league cricket for teams like Guyana Amazon Warriors, Islamabad United, Mumbai Indians, and Perth Scorchers.

PCB’s Renewed Interest in Ronchi

This isn’t the first time the PCB has expressed interest in Ronchi’s coaching expertise. He previously declined a similar offer, but the PCB sees him as a potential Mickey Arthur Replacement due to his experience and success on the international stage.
