Rishabh Pant has made a strong comeback in the ICC Test batting rankings, re-entering at No. 6 after scoring a century in Chennai. In India’s recent Test against Bangladesh, Pant recorded scores of 39 and 109, helping his team secure a 280-run victory. This performance earned him 731 rating points. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 56 in India’s first innings, moved up to fifth place with 751 points, while Joe Root remains the leader with 899 points. Rohit Sharma, however, faced a significant drop, falling from No. 5 to No. 10 after poor scores of 6 and 5.
Virat Kohli also slipped five places to No. 12 with scores of 6 and 17, while Shubman Gill improved his ranking, moving up to No. 14 after scoring 119 not out in the second innings against Bangladesh. Gurbaz, despite a duck in the first ODI against South Africa, bounced back with scores of 105 and 89 in subsequent matches, rising to No. 8 among ODI batters. Head’s impressive innings of 154 not out against England propelled him to No. 9. Additionally, Rashid Khan’s seven wickets in the series helped him climb to No. 3 in the ODI bowling rankings.
