Pakistan Needs 36 Runs to Win After Sajid and Noman Shine

Pakistan is just 36 runs away from victory after dismissing England for 112 in the third and final Test in Rawalpindi, putting them on the brink of their first home series win since 2021. England had previously scored 267, and Pakistan’s 344 puts them in a strong position.

Pakistan Needs 36 Runs to Win After Sajid and Noman Shine

Noman Ali and Sajid Khan dominated the bowling, taking all 10 wickets for the second time in this match. Noman claimed six wickets for 42 runs, marking his sixth five-wicket haul, while Sajid took four for 69. Together, they orchestrated England’s collapse on day three, with the final seven wickets falling for just 46 runs. Since joining the squad after England took a 1-0 lead in the series, they have combined for 39 wickets—Noman’s left-arm spin yielding 20 at an average of 13.85 and Sajid’s off-spin contributing 19 at 21.01.

England’s innings began slowly, starting the day at 24 for 3 and 53 runs behind. Despite the promising partnership between Joe Root and Harry Brook, the tide turned once Sajid and Noman stepped up their game. After Brook struck consecutive fours off Sajid, Noman’s quick delivery caught him off guard, leading to a pivotal breakthrough.

England’s troubles deepened when Ben Stokes fell victim to Noman’s straight delivery, followed by Jamie Smith’s reckless dismissal. Root, England’s last hope, fell to a brilliant delivery from Noman that showcased his skill. Sajid finished off the tail, taking the final wickets and looking for a second five-wicket haul in the match.

With just 36 runs needed for victory, Pakistan stands poised for a significant win as they aim to close out the series on a high note.
