Pakistan achieved a historic feat in Johannesburg, becoming the first team to whitewash South Africa in an ODI series on their home soil. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan completed a dominant 3-0 victory, a result that few expected when the series began. The third ODI, played on Sunday, saw Pakistan secure an unassailable 2-0 lead and finish the series in style.

Saim Ayub, who had already scored a century earlier in the series, was the star of the day, notching up a brilliant 101 off 94 balls. His aggressive knock set the tone for Pakistan’s total of 308 runs. Alongside Ayub, captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan contributed valuable fifties, further solidifying Pakistan’s position.
South Africa’s chase never gained momentum, as they lost wickets regularly throughout their innings. Heinrich Klaasen was the lone bright spot for the Proteas, scoring a quick-fire 81 off 43 balls. Despite his valiant efforts, South Africa could only manage 271 runs before being bowled out, handing Pakistan an easy 37-run victory.
With this win, Pakistan made history at the Wanderers, securing a remarkable 3-0 series win. Their clinical performance throughout the series not only outclassed South Africa but also established them as the first team to achieve such a feat. This victory marks a significant milestone for Pakistan cricket, highlighting their strength and determination in overseas conditions.
