The Netherlands will host a T20 tri-series with Ireland and Scotland in Amstelveen from May 18 to 24. This series is crucial preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, starting on June 2. Matches will occur every day except May 21.

This tri-series adopts a straightforward round-robin format, with each team facing the others twice. Ireland, fresh from a comprehensive series against Afghanistan, will host three T20Is against Pakistan in May before joining the tri-series in the Netherlands. For Scotland and the Netherlands, who recently participated in 50-over matches in the World Cup League 2, this series presents a final opportunity to fine-tune their T20I strategies before heading to the World Cup venues in the West Indies and the USA.
Tri-series schedule:
- May 18: Netherlands vs Scotland
- May 19: Netherlands vs Ireland
- May 20: Ireland vs Scotland
- May 22: Netherlands vs Scotland
- May 23: Ireland vs Scotland
- May 24: Netherlands vs Ireland
Roland Lefebvre, the high-performance director at the KNCB (Royal Dutch Cricket Association), expressed enthusiasm about hosting the tri-series, emphasizing its significance in preparing for the T20 World Cup. He highlighted the global appeal of the event, with over a billion TV viewers expected worldwide. The Netherlands aims to replicate its success from the 2022 tournament in Australia.
In the upcoming T20 World Cup, Ireland finds itself in Group A alongside Canada, India, Pakistan, and USA, while Scotland competes in Group B with Australia, England, Namibia, and Oman. The Netherlands is placed in Group D, where it will contend with Bangladesh, Nepal, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.
