Harmanpreet’s explosive innings, comprising 10 fours and five sixes off just 48 balls, led Mumbai Indians’ successful chase of Gujarat’s 190 for seven.

Partnering with opener Yastika Bhatia, who contributed 49 runs off 36 balls, the defending champions reached 191 for three with a ball to spare. Despite a challenging phase losing wickets early, Mumbai Indians faced the task of 72 runs off 30 balls. Harmanpreet’s pivotal partnership of 93 runs with Amelia Kerr, and her boundary-laden onslaught, especially against off-spinner Sneh Rana in the 18th over, reduced the required runs to 23 off 12 balls.

The victory places Mumbai Indians atop the chart with 10 points. Earlier, Gujarat Giants posted a competitive total of 190 for seven, buoyed by dynamic fifties from skipper Beth Mooney (66 runs) and D Hemalatha (74 runs). Although their partnership set a strong foundation, Mumbai’s successful chase underlined their dominance in the Women’s Premier League.
