MS Dhoni Makes History: Notable Achievement With Quick 28* Off 9 Balls Against LSG in IPL 2024

In match number 34 of the IPL 2024 season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni showcased his trademark finishing prowess by smashing an unbeaten MS Dhoni IPL 2024 Fifty of 28 runs off just nine deliveries against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Dhoni’s blistering cameo included three boundaries and a couple of massive sixes, propelling CSK to a competitive total of 176 runs with two big overs off Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur at the death.

During his explosive innings, Dhoni achieved a significant milestone in IPL history, becoming the first wicketkeeper-batsman to amass 5,000 runs in the tournament. Making his IPL debut in 2008, Dhoni reached this landmark in his 257th game, accumulating a total of 5,169 runs at an impressive average of nearly 40.

In the match against LSG, CSK opener Ajinkya Rahane contributed with a fluent 36 runs at the top of the order despite early dismissals of Rachin Ravindra, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shivam Dube. Ravindra Jadeja Fifty – CSK vs LSG later anchored CSK’s innings with an authoritative half-century, well-supported by fellow all-rounder Moeen Ali.

As Moeen Ali got out, Dhoni stepped up in the last few overs, speeding up CSK’s scoring rate from 141-6 to a strong total of 176 runs by the end of their 20 overs.
