Georgia Voll aims to cap her stellar debut series against India at the WACA, earning praise from teammate Beth Mooney for her seamless transition to international cricket. Voll replaced injured captain Alyssa Healy and has since delivered standout performances in Australia’s back-to-back wins in Brisbane, sealing the series.

The 21-year-old debuted with an unbeaten 46, steering Australia to a five-wicket victory. She followed it with a stunning 101 off 87 balls in the second ODI, marking her maiden international century. Her performances have impressed selectors, earning her a spot in Australia’s squad for the three-match ODI series in New Zealand, starting December 19.
Voll’s rise follows an impressive WBBL season with Sydney Thunder, where she scored 330 runs at a strike rate of 144.73, earning a spot in the Team of the Tournament. “She’s been really impressive, taking to international cricket like a duck to water,” Mooney said, highlighting Voll’s maturity and confidence.
With Healy included in the New Zealand squad, competition for top-order spots is expected to be fierce. Meanwhile, Voll and fellow 21-year-old Phoebe Litchfield have already showcased their potential with impressive opening partnerships of 48 and 130 in the first two games. Reflecting on their performances, Mooney remarked, “It’s great for Australian cricket. Clearly, the depth and investment in domestic tournaments are paying off.”
Australia is eyeing a whitewash over India at the WACA, which would strengthen their lead in the ICC Women’s Championship standings. Mooney, returning to her home ground, is in fine form, scoring 56 off 44 balls in Australia’s 371 for 8—their third-highest ODI total.
Healy is recovering from a knee injury and plans to join the New Zealand tour as a batter. Australia has strengthened its staff by appointing Gavan Twining as the new fielding and wicketkeeping coach.
