KheloMore Sports, a company passionate about encouraging young cricketers, has joined forces with Cricket Victoria’s Melbourne Cricket Academy (MCA) to elevate cricket education in India. This collaboration aims to restart youngsters’ passion for the game and equip them with the fundamentals from a young age.

David Hussey, a former Australian all-rounder who currently heads Cricket Victoria’s men’s cricket coaching program, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. He highlights the critical role enjoyable training environments play in keeping young players in love with the sport. Hussey, reflecting on his cricket journey, stresses nurturing passion as crucial alongside technical proficiency. He advocates for balanced development. According to him, a genuine love for the sport is fundamental for sustained growth and success.

Jatin Paranjape, CEO of KheloMore and ex-Indian cricketer, stresses early cricket education’s significance for youngsters. He highlights instilling fundamental skills and principles in schoolchildren as crucial. He acknowledges a positive shift in the education system, with a growing focus on participation over just winning.

This partnership between KheloMore Sports and the Melbourne Cricket Academy has several key objectives:

  • Introducing Victorian Cricket Development Models: Young Indian players will be exposed to the proven training methods employed by the Melbourne Cricket Academy.
  • Cricket Coaching in Schools: The collaboration aims to integrate cricket coaching programs into the curriculums of Indian schools.
  • Coaches’ Certification Program: A coaches’ certification program will launch in July to systematically expand qualified cricket coaching opportunities.
