In a significant development for IPL 2024, Jason Roy, the dynamic all-rounder, has withdrawn from the tournament citing personal reasons. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) swiftly filled the gap by bringing in compatriot Phil Salt as his replacement. Salt, who previously represented Delhi Capitals, returns to the league after being overlooked in the IPL auction in December 2023.
Salt’s acquisition comes at his reserve price of 1.5 crore, offering KKR a like-for-like replacement for Roy. Known for his aggressive opening batting style akin to Roy’s, Phil Salt also brings valuable wicket-keeping skills to the table.
