Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from his decade-long cricketing career at the age of 39. He confirmed the news on social media with a unique caption reminiscent of MS Dhoni’s retirement announcement.

Kedar Jadhav, born and raised in Maharashtra, made his international debut for India in 2014 as a batting all-rounder. Known for his unconventional off-spin, his success in the IPL with CSK and RCB helped him earn a spot on the national team.

One of his standout performances was in the 2017 ODI series against England, where his unbeaten 120 off 76 balls helped India chase down a challenging target. He also played for India in the 2019 World Cup.

However, inconsistency led to Jadhav losing his place on the national team, and he gradually faded from the spotlight. After going unsold in last year’s auctions, Jadhav served as an analyst for IPL 2024.

At 39, Kedar Jadhav decided to end his on-field career. He took to Instagram earlier today, sharing a slideshow of his best moments on the field to officially announce his retirement from all forms of cricket.

He thanked fans for their support and stated that from 1500 hours, they should consider him a former cricketer. Post-retirement, Jadhav is expected to explore roles in commentary or as a field expert.

Notably, Jadhav’s retirement announcement style drew parallels with MS Dhoni’s, who announced his retirement in a similar manner in 2020. After the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni disappeared from the cricket scene for a year before confirming his retirement with a rare social media post in August 2020.
