England have announced their playing XI for the first T20I against Australia at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. With Jos Buttler absent, Phil Salt will captain the side and open the batting with Will Jacks.

Three players will make their T20I debuts: Jordan Cox, Jacob Bethell, and Jamie Overton. Salt, known for his explosive batting, will pair with Jacks, who adds valuable all-round capabilities. Jacks, a Royal Challengers Bangalore player in the IPL, can contribute with both the bat and occasional off-spin.
Cox and Bethell, both having impressive performances in The Hundred, will strengthen England’s batting lineup. Their ability to play impactful innings will be crucial against the Australian bowlers.
