Nair’s remarkable form includes four centuries this season, with three coming in consecutive matches. His unbeaten streak began on December 23 with 112 off 108 balls against Jammu & Kashmir. He followed it with an unbeaten 44 against Chhattisgarh in a low chase. He then recorded his season-best 168* against Chandigarh, helping Vidarbha chase 316. Nair wrapped up 2024 with another ton, scoring 111* against Tamil Nadu.

On Friday, Nair’s 112* came in a crucial 228-run partnership with Yash Rathod, who contributed 138* off 140 balls. Their combined efforts helped Vidarbha comfortably chase down UP’s 307 for 8 in 47.2 overs, finishing at 313 for 2.

Nair’s record-breaking form has been key to Vidarbha’s dominant campaign in the tournament. The team now tops Group D with 20 points from five matches. Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh follow with 14 points each, occupying second and third spots, respectively.

Other prominent names in the List A unbeaten run records include Joshua van Heerden (512 runs), Fakhar Zaman (455), and Taufeeq Umar (422). Nair’s streak puts him at the top of the list, marking a significant achievement in his cricketing career.

Vidarbha’s win further solidifies their chances of advancing in the tournament, thanks to Nair’s consistency and Rathod’s solid support.
