RCB has appointed Omkar Salvi as their fast bowling coach for the IPL 2025 season, according to reports. The 43-year-old coach is expected to leverage his vast domestic cricket experience to help the franchise end its title drought. This move highlights RCB’s efforts to revamp their coaching staff before the 2025 IPL season and mega auction.

As reported by The Indian Express, RCB is set to make an official announcement soon. A source confirmed, “He has been appointed as bowling coach for RCB for the forthcoming season. He has expertise and has worked with other franchises too.”
Omkar Salvi has an impressive coaching track record in Indian domestic cricket. He guided Mumbai to a Ranji Trophy title last season and has previously worked as an assistant coach with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Known for his technical insights and player development skills, Salvi brings a wealth of knowledge to the RCB setup. He is also the brother of former India pacer Avishkar Salvi.
Currently serving as head coach for the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) since 2022, Salvi’s contract with MCA will expire in March 2025, aligning with his new role at RCB. His appointment adds to the franchise’s recent strategic hires, including Dinesh Karthik as batting coach and mentor for IPL 2025.
RCB has reached three IPL finals in their history but is yet to win the coveted title. By strengthening their coaching team, the franchise aims to find the perfect formula for success in the upcoming season. Salvi’s expertise could play a key role in shaping the team’s performance and boosting their chances for a maiden IPL triumph.
