In a heartwarming gesture, Multan Sultans, one of the franchises in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, has pledged to support children in war-torn Palestine. The team has announced that for every six hit and every wicket taken by their players during the season, they will donate PKR 1 lakh to the Palestine Children Relief Fund.
This initiative comes as part of their commitment to raise funds for the children suffering due to the ongoing conflict in Palestine. Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Khan Tareen, revealed the plan through a message before their match against Karachi Kings on April 12. Tareen emphasized that while the team’s primary focus is on performing well in the tournament, they also want to contribute to a noble cause and support children in dire need.
“We have decided that in this season, we will support charity foundations working in Palestine. For every six hit by a Multan player, we will donate Rs 1 lakh. Our bowlers also wanted to help, so we will donate the same amount for every wicket taken by our bowlers,” Tareen stated.
Multan Sultans’ season opener, however, ended in a loss to Karachi Kings. Batting first, captain Mohammad Rizwan’s stunning century guided them to a total of 234 runs. Despite his efforts, Karachi Kings chased down the target successfully, with James Vince’s explosive 101 and Khushdil Shah’s quick-fire 60 leading the way.
Despite their defeat, Multan Sultans raised PKR 15 lakh for Palestine in just one game through a mix of sixes and wickets. Their heartfelt initiative will continue throughout the PSL 2025 season, aiming to generate both awareness and vital support for children affected in the war-hit region.
